After taking oath from the President, PM Koirala has administered the oath of office and secrecy to NC leader and former Minister of Economy, Ram Sharan Mahat as his cabinet minister although his portfolio has been undecided.
Earlier Sushil Koirala was elected on the PM post in an election conducted in the parliament .Sushil Koirala received 405 votes in his favor while 148 votes were cast against him.CPN UML,the second largest party in the parliament, had backed Koirala in the election whereas the third largest Party CPN Maoist had voted against him.
In the Oath taking ceremony, Vice President Parmananda Jha, Chairmain of the council of Ministers and Outgoing Executive Head Khilaraj Regmi, his cabinet ministers, CPN UML chairman Jhalanath Khanal, UML Leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and many political leaders from different parties and other dignitaries were present.
