Nepal is prepared for the upcoming Constituent Assembly Election next week in spite of numerous challenges.The security forces, Election Commission election observers, human right groups, international election observation groups from US, EU and several other countries are all set for the next week's challenging election, all the political parties have extended their election campaigns all over the country, moreover general public and voters are waiting excitingly to cast their votes to insure their favorite candidates.On the other hand the 33 parties alliance who have been opposing this election have also intensified their rampage to affect the election.
There had never been such violent election in Nepal before, planting bombs, ambushing, kidnapping and attacking the oppositions, attracting voters with money, and using all kinds of means to win the election have been normal.In fact there has been a very bad culture being practiced now.According to the Election
Code Of Conduct, a candidate can spend a maximum of 1 million rupees, but in practice, a candidate's expenditure crosses 30 million in average.One can't expect the win without spending over 10 million, that's been the fact now.One can easily understand what sort of responsibilities the people can expect
once such candidates win and go to the Constitution Assembly, will he work for the nation or he will first want to recover his money that has been spent on the expensive election.All these things are going towards wrong way.
What is more sad is leaders have not been able to teach the general public about the importance of this election, the country have spent billions of rupees in previous and this CA election just to form a CA, which in fact is made for promulgating the new constitution for the country.But most of the people have understood this election as the parliamentary election before the 2062/2063 People's movement.Most of the people have been asking for the immediate commitment for some development work in their area in stead of expressing their idea how the new constitution should be.In fact these leaders have taken too much time that voter's cant wait them anymore after all , development is the the final goal from either system, so people don't want to loose any chance when the candidates come to their homes once while in the election.
This election has shown once again that people are the ultimate power, leaders can lie them few times but not all the time.On the other hand CPN Maoist should have learnt a big lesson that people now want the real thing to happen not just the sweet speeches and the false commitments.Nepali congress seems excited for it's bigger win as the attraction in Maoist seems decreased although they don't have any thing new to attract people, CPN UML is trying to regain it's position in the politics. Madhesi parties this time have been weaker as they have been split into several pieces because of power, position and money.All these weakness from the major parties have somehow benefited the Kamal Thapa's Party Ra. Pra. Pa. Nepal which have predicted wining several more seats this time.
