Another Don Deepak Manange Arrested
Finally CBI has arrested the Don Deepak Manange who was accused of amassing property through illegal means. Manange was
arrested from City Center Kamaladi Kathmandu.He was on the run since the Department Of Anti-money Laundering had filed case
against 5 dons including him.He was reported to be hiding in Sikkim while other dons were arrested one by one in Kathmandu.
Police had intensified the search when they have the information of his return in Kathmandu before few days.
CBI has said that it will handover him to the Special Court where he will face the charge of Illegal Property equal to 140 Million Rupees. Manange and his two wives have been charged as the main respondent in the case.
Department of Anti-money Laundering has filled cases on similar charges against five dons Deepak Manange aka Rajib Gurung, Milan Chakre aka Milan Gurung, Parshuram Basnet, Abhishek Giri and Ganesh Lama.They all have been charged of amasing property through illegal activities like kidnapping, illegal commission, Tender, business of illegal drugs etc.On May 19, Special Court had issued a notice
on their names to present on the court and defend the same within 15 days.
Chakre Milan who has been serving jail term on other cases was shown in the court by police in the court and Parshuram Basnet and Ganesh lama had appeared in the court themselves. Basnet have been released on bail whereas Ganesh Lama is still in the jail after failing to pay the bail amount asked by the court.
Police haven't been able to arrest Abhishek Giri although they have been searching him.
