Yes, we are poor thats why we have been behind on everything.So we need to correct this unfairness, whoever can correct this will be as respectable as the god himself.
Yes we have some god (God is only one but has many incarnations) around us in the form of Human being like Dr. Bhagawan Koirala who serves peoople without any expectation, and some institution like Patan Academy Of Health Science (PAHS) who not only thinks but prepares an environment where any Nepalese student can become doctor in a condition that he/she will serve the people in rural area at least 5 years, which is very good initiative and very effective vision in medical sector in Nepal.
Those talent economically unprivileged from different part of the nation specially Female, Dalit, Adibasi/Janjati, Madhesi and Permanent Resident of Backward Region can now become a doctor, but he/she needs to serve the community for certain period of time.Patan Academy of Health Science is giving away certain seats on scolorships every year for MBBS program since 2010.
And to make all these possible, someone bigger pocket with bigger heart is needed.Yes, Min Gurung is the name who have been funding the PAHS on its MBBS scholorship program since last 3 years.Below are the lucky students who have grabbed the chances so far:
Sailesh Shrestha Khotang (2010)
Dhan Maya Gharti Magar Rolpa (2010)
Dabal bahadur Malla Mugu (2011)
Taima Chhuku Lama Humla (2011)
It costs around 2.5 Million to complete the 5 yrs MBBS program, Gurung has already promised 30 Million aid on that scholarship program.
The cowork between Min Gurung and PAHS became possible while Former Vice Chancellor of PAHS Dr Arjun karki, on his way to Korea, met Min Gurung at TIA while later was flying to US.Gurung agreed to Karki's Proposal , afterall Gurung was originally from remote place of Khotang District where he still remembers the Health Posts without Doctors.
Min Gurung who started his business in 2041 BS as a small cold store owner, is the Executive Chairman of the Bhatbhateni Supermarket Chain in Nepal now which has 5 Branches in Kathmandu and 1 in Pokhara.
Gurung has been helping 12 other children on their school level study in different scholarship programs.There is a 72 beded well facilitated Emergency ward in TU Teaching Hospital Maharajganj on Gurung's Personal funding.Gurung and his brother Pahalman Gurung had provided 100 million financial assistance for the construction of the emergency treatment building of the hospital in memory of their late parents Brish Bahadur Gurung and Dhanamaya Gurung.
