A deadly avalanche above Everest Base Camp has killed at least 12 Sherpa people. The avalanche hit the Sherpas on Friday morning at 06:45 AM local time at the height of 5800m while they were fixing the ropes for the climbers. The accident zone is knows as popcorn field.
The identity of dead and missing haven't been officially disclosed whereas the rescue and search operation is running in the accident area.
According to the members deployed in the rescue, 12 dead bodies have been brought to Feruche Hospital in Khumjung by Helicopter. Three dead bodies are seen buried in the ice but officials haven't been able to rescue them yet.
