Bimal Becomes First Nepalese Footballer To Play In European Club

Nepaese Footballer Bimal Gharti magar in Anderlecht


16 Year old Nepalese boy Bimal Gharti Magar has become the first Nepalese footballer to play for any European club.RSC Anderlecht club in Belgium had made a deal with Bimal for its U-19 team.Bimal has been assigned for the period from  July 26 2014 to May 31 2015.
Born in 26 January 1998,  Bimal Gharti Magar initially from Bhutaha Village in Nawalparasi District of Nepal is a son of a ex policeman who was also a local footballer and inspired him to play footballs.
Impressed by his wining performance at Subroto Cup held in Delhi  for Elite English School Butwal, ANFA  had selected him to join ANFA Academy Butwal and same year he was transferred to central ANFA academy during AFC U-14 Football festival. His performance in U-14 team helped him to be selected in the National team to play a friendly match with Bangladesh at the age of 14.
During the SAFF Championship 2013 Bimal became instant National Hero scoring an equalizer 1-1 goal with Pakistan at injury time and became youngest scorer in SAFF Championship.
Bimal as team captain helped U-16 team to be qualified for 2014 AFC U-16 Championship. Seeing a great football potential on him, a Bangladeshi former coach of U-17, Rene Koster, arranged a 2 weeks trail with Dutch club FC Twente during November 2013 and another trial with Anderlecht's youth team Belgium during April-May 2014.Bimal was included in three youth tournaments AEGON Future Cup, The Ten Brinke Bouw Tournament and Nuenen Tournament for RSC Anderlecht. Currently Bimal has returned to Nepal and soon will leave for Beljium.RSC Anderlecht is the most prestigious Belgium club with 5 European  Trophies, 33 wins at Belgium Pro League, 9 Belgian Cups and holds a record of  5 consecutive Belgium Championship between 1963-64 and
1967-68.
