Former Prime Minister Marichman Singh Dies At 72

Former Prime Minister Marichman Singh has died this morning at Norvic Hospital Kathmandu.He died at the age of 72 due to lungs cancer.According to the doctor,  involved in his treatment, Dr. Prakashraj Neupane, He breathed around 0300 am this morning.

Mr Singh had been  receiving treatment at Medanta Hospital New Delhi India for around a month.He was brought back to Nepal on Tuesday night by air ambulance and
kept at ventilator in Norvic Hospital.According to his son Anil Singh, who has been involved on the entire treatment journey,  his health condition was not improving and Marichman Singh himself wished to come back to Nepal before dying.
Now Singh's body has been kept at his home  in Dhapasi for final respect.The family is preparing his funeral ceremony at Aryaghat Pashupatinath at 0100 pm.

Born in Salyan District in 1940, Singh was survived by 3 sons and a daughter.One of his sons and a daughter have been living in US whereas another son has been living in Japan.Now all of his children have arrived in Nepal.
Singh initially started his politics as a  member of Newa Community.Later he managed to become the speaker of the National Assembly of Nepal.Singh served as Prime Minister from 15th June 1986 to 6th April 1990.During the 2nd People's Revolution in 1990, people agitated demanding Multiparty Democracy in Nepal, Singh was dismissed by the King Birendra to ease the political pressure.

Singh's Son Anil has said that more than 7 million rupees have been spent for his treatment.He received help from his friends family and other relatives but didn't accept the help from Nepal Government as the Government was mean to even mention his name as the former prime minister of Nepal.

After Nepal has been the Republic State, many politicians and former government officials who support the Monarch have been ignored by the government.
