Finance Minister Sankar Koirala has unveiled a total budget of Rs. 517 Billion on Sunday for this Fiscal Year 2070/2071.The budget doesn't have any new projects, it has mainly focused on the upcoming constituent election in November.
Despite any new projects, the new budget has some increment on salaries of government employees. The new salary Chart will be like below:

This is the 18% increase on their salary along with Rs 1000 bonus. This increase in salary will benefit some 89 Thousand Civil Servants, 95 Thousand Nepal Army, 81 Thousand Nepal Armed Forced Police, 97 Thousand Nepal Police, 97 Thousand Public Limited and 88 Thousand Community Teachers. This is the increment after the 3 years, which has certainly brought some happiness and encouragement among the government employees.

But another negative part as always is that the market price will go higher right after few days of salary increment that will affect the whole  27 million population in Nepal. So this is the problem never been tackled
after every new salary increment.

Anther question is weather the above salary is good enough for a respectful living in Nepal. Most of the government workers in Nepal are corrupt because of the low salary they have. This is the question always discussed but never been solved. Just a simple example, when a non skilled Nepali worker goes to Malaysia or any other Gulf countries on the labor visa, he will earn more than 25 Thousand every month. So here is the question if one wants to spend years of time and money to become qualified for a government worker. So this inequality and abnormal proportion in earnings will definitely encourage them to find some way to make more money either by corruption  or  by commission. Or he will simply choose not to struggle to get qualified for the job.

If the salary they earn is respectively higher according to their education and skill, that will definitely lower the chance of corruption.

Watch below the salary table showing how much the Nepali Army and Police Officials earn.
